The original children

So, as many of you may know, David and I already have kids, two to be exact. There's a girl 3 1/2, and our little boy 22 months. Yes, I am talking about our dogs Zhoe and Zheke. Who actually have been very good preparation for a child. Oh some of the stories of late night illness, and Vet visits I could share. Mostly, they have just been comic relief on stress filled days and a comforting cold nose, and a constant snuggle buddy in times of need.

Naturally, they are the cutest, smartest dogs in the world, ( I am not biased at all), and I think they know something is up? I keep making it a point to say things like, "We love babies, we don't eat babies" because I am just not so sure how they're going to handle a new member in the pack, especially a fur less one. I am mostly concerned about Zheke, if there is food involved there is no stopping him, he begged me for my coffee every morning, when I used to drink it, and if I looked away for a millisecond I would have a snout in my coffee mug. Can we say stolen bottles.

Also, the couch belongs to him. If you are sitting on it do not be surprised if you get a paw pulling you out of his spot.

Zhoe is pretty chill about most things, except for Zheke in her personal space, which is where he likes to be, so I am not too worried about her. If I could train her to change diapers, we'd be all set!

So here is a tribute to our first attempts at child rearing, and hoping that our biological child will only be half as obsessed with food, and much less spoiled than our firsts.
