"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" Hebrews 11:1
So I was having a little trouble grasping being pregnant. I guess in my mind I imagined that you felt more. I mostly just feel bloated and sleepy all the time. No morning sickness, thank goodness. So, when we went to my first Ob visit and she told me we were going to do an ultrasound, I was really excited. Until, I realized it was not the on top of the tummy kind of ultrasound. So I get situated and then onto the large overhead screen appears a lot of fuzzy gray and a little black circle of nothing, at which time the tech squeals, "Oooh I see baby!" Dave and I just look at each other, but she is a trained professional, so we go with it. All we can see is a big bubble in the middle of the picture, which we were informed is the yolk sac. (Fondly we named our child Chicken McBaggett) So after much nodding and fake agreeing that we see what she is talking about, she readjusts so that we can look at the baby's heartbeat. Now even though it's just a flicker of light, I could actually see that, pretty cool. So the heartbeat is good, and everything that is supposed to be there at week 6 was there according to the technician, so we are good to go with pictures and DVD in hand of our little one that we can't see. It's so strange having a little person growing inside you and no way to see it. I just want to ask if there's anything it needs, what's it like being a human tadpole, things like that. Well enjoy the video, the tech highlights the area of gray that's baby. Oh and next week starts week 8 and that's when I'll start with the tummy photos so everyone can follow the progress. Which be advised, my Ob took one look at me and told me not to expect to "show" for a long while. Great, now people will just think I've been overdoing it on the cheeseburgers.

I wanted to wear a sign around my neck that said, "I'm not just getting fat, I'm pregnant," for like the first 5 mos. Yes, it's an awkward time, but you'll get thru it and be "that cute pregnant girl" before you know it. :)
