7 Months

Ok, 7 months belly pics are here! I am now in my third and final trimester, can you believe it? I can't either. Spike will be here before you know it. ( I don't think I ever explained Spike, that's the name my niece and nephew chose for my unborn child, and it's just kind of stuck.)
I know you're all wondering, and no, David and I still haven't agreed on a name. You'd think since my dogs have super cute names, we'd picked out the best baby names ever, but for some reason none of them are really tugging at my heartstrings. Maybe once I meet the little one something will come to mind.

I'm trying to give my amateur photographer some advice, hence the mid speech face.
My visit to the doctor consisted of a glucose screening. You have to eat at least 2 hours before your screen, and not again until after your blood is drawn. I had lunch at about 11:30, and my appointment was at 2:00pm. So of course I was just a little hungry,ok a lot hungry by the time I got to the Doctor's office. Then I was given a really sugary orange soda like concoction, and told bottom's up. Yuk, this drink was like liquid pixie stix on crack! I tried to down it unsuccessfully, and began sputtering and coughing, so I decided to slow down and take my time. FYI, I will probably never drink an orange soda for the rest of my life. After that you get a visit from the doc, and they draw your blood after an hour. So my uterus is measuring on schedule, but I only gained 1lb in 4 weeks! I informed my doctor that I felt 20lbs heavier. She reassured me that she wasn't too worried, but that we might do an ultrasound just to make sure Spike is gaining all the weight necessary. I don't know if y'all can tell, but if you compare last month's pictures to this month's I think I have done quite a bit of expanding.

So, another successful visit to the doctor. Spike's heartbeat is a steady 150bpm, and baby is still kicking away like a ninja. On a side note, it was 80 degrees, hence the shorts and flip flops. Shorts, I got last year, and still successfully buttoned and maintained my ability to breathe! I'm putting off maternity clothes for as long as possible. Which isn't too long I guess, because after my appointment, David and I promptly headed over to Dairy Queen and ordered a strawberry sundae. Yummy! I mean, I would just hate to not have gained enough weight next visit. :)
