Now that classes are done for the semester, I have lots of quality time with my little guy. Everyday I see more and more of his personality, and boy am I in big trouble.
Rather than perfect his crawling, Owen has decided to move on to pulling up on anything and everything he can get his hands on. I must say he is really good at pulling himself up to standing.
Now most of you are thinking that this is normal development for a baby his age. Here's the thing, my Owen likes to pull up and let go. Big grin and a lift of the foot and you guessed it, the kid is wiping out. Now I catch him 80% of the time and the rest of the time the carpet catches him. I mean, does he honestly think he can walk? ( I have no idea where he gets his fearlessness from *cough David cough*)
Granted I have no recollection of learning to walk, but I don't think that I thought that after 6 & 1/2 months of gaining enough strength to simply stand, that walking would come automatically. So after a few days of unsuccessful attempts bi pedaling, he has decided that his new trick is to go back and forth from the love seat to the footrest. ( Sideways, he twists at the waist to grab the couch and then walks his legs over) Now as trying as this can be on my mental well being, (David has forbidden me from buying Owen a baby helmet and knee pads.) I do get a kick out of the big smile and look of accomplishment in the little guys eyes.

Woooow! That sure is early!! Crazy!
