Higher Education

It's that time of year, school has begun. On Monday morning as pre-teens were dragging their emo-dressed bodies to the end of our street to wait for that bright yellow carriage, I too was preparing to return to school. The only difference, I am a self professed geek, and I was excited to go sit in stiff plastic chairs and stare at power points!

The only thing causing me to drag my feet, was that I was not going to be with my sweet little duckling. I wouldn't get to see his elaborate wake up process which involves a good stretch, knees to chest, lots of grunting, lip pursing, and smiles! Not only was missing out on his morning performance causing me some distress, but I was leaving him with.... Daddy! My sweet husband was going to be responsible for our child... all by himself, the same man who is stuffing a blanket into Owen's onsie as we speak, to transform Owen into "Super Kuper".
Up and away!

Such a versatile blankey

Well, I made it through the first day, my Genetics professor started giving notes on the first day, so that helped occupy my mind. I rushed home, expecting a crowd in front of my house, along with various emergency vehicles. However, I was greeted by my two trusty hounds, and a quiet house. Owen was asleep!?
Hmmmphh, one point for David. And so the trend continued for the rest of the week. David was even diligent with "tummy time".

There's no stopping him now.

Don't worry, I checked Owen for scars and what not, made sure he could still see, and checked his breath for ice cream. So all in all, I guess I'll keep Dave as my "manny" . Not that I won't continue to put in a special prayer request at church for my child's well being for as long as he is in David's care. ;)
Owen is actually laughing in this picture!
